Winrock International India receives SESI-Media Award 2005

Winrock International India (WII) has received the SESI-Media Award for Year 2005 for its outreach efforts in commercializing and promoting the use of renewable energy in India.

The award, instituted by SESI (the Solar Energy Society of India), which is the Indian Section of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES), was presented at the 2006 International Convention of Renewable Energy (ICORE) conference held in Hyderabad from February 8-11, 2006.

WII has been in the forefront of using a variety of communication tools to disseminate information and createawareness about renewable energy in India. WII publishes a range of documents - brochures, newsletters, bulletins, handbooks, compendiums, magazines, conference/workshop proceedings, posters, calendars on

renewable energy. The entire gamut of publishing activities - from information collection to editing and designing to printing and mass mailing - is handled by an in-house team of professionally qualified analysts, editors and designers.

WII publishes eight newsletters dedicated to popularize and disseminate updated information on the subject of renewable energy.

The combined circulation of all the newsletters and bulletins is over 50,000 and reaches all stakeholders nationally and internationally. WII has also undertaken co-publishing with major international think-tanks such as the Worldwatch Institute and Stockholm Environment Institute, and continues to be in the forefront in creating mass awareness on the subject.
