Urvashi Dogra (Senior Program Officer) has over 15 years experience working as a communications professional, of which seven years were with the advertising industry. A deep interest in wildlife and natural resource conservation led to her professional shift to the not-for-profit sector. She has worked extensively on researching, developing and implementing communications strategies, including media campaigns, for the preservation of natural resources, with a special focus on wildlife and environment conservation. Event management, building relations with stakeholders including government and non-government organizations, coordination with international and national funding agencies, monitoring and evaluating communications campaigns are some of the other focus areas of her work. She graduated with Mathematics, Economics and English Honours and holds a master’s degree in English Literature, along with PG diplomas in personnel management and computer programming.
Sharmila Ghosh (Consultant, Library and Resource Centre) has over 19 years of experience in library services and information management, with specialization in customized classification systems, organization of multimedia resources, compilation of information products and demand based users’ services. She has done her PG in Library & Information Sciences with a basic background of the Social Sciences. Besides, she has undertaken professional training in Computerization of Libraries, Information Management for Social Science Research and Knowledge Management. Prior to joining WII, she worked with organizations like Institute of Social Sciences, TVB School of Habitat Studies, TERI, ISST, Society for Participatory Research in Asia, Centre for Media Studies, Women’s Feature Service and Jagori Women’s Resource Centre. She has nine published titles to her credit. Jaison Jose (Senior Program Associate) is a desktop publishing expert with over seven years core experience in designing print publications. He holds a two-year diploma in desktop publishing, and has worked on a number of prestigious print projects for both corporate and non-corporate houses, including developing newspaper advertisements. As a designer/visualizer with Winrock, he is responsible for laying out newsletters and other print collaterals, and preparing pre-press ready files for printing.
Sasi M (Program Associate) has over six years of experience in Desk Top Publishing (DTP), database management and five years as data entry operator and documentation assistant. He has designed newsletters, annual reports, cover pages of project reports and power point presentations. In WII he handles the management of subscription of Newsletters and sale of publications. He has been instrumental in coordinating with participants, donors and advertisers for the annual Biofuels Conference - the flagship event of WII. He has worked with both NGOs and private sector organizations.
Ashirbad S Raha (Program Associate) is a journalist by training. He graduated from Delhi University and completed his Post graduation in Journalism from Times School of Journalism (TSJ), Delhi. It was in The Times of India, Delhi where he started his career as a crime reporter only to discover that it was Environment as a subject which he wanted to specialize on. And it was this desire that bought him to WII.
A gold medalist from TSJ, Ashirbad has done short term courses in Climate Change and Disaster Management, Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation, Human rights, Photography and is currently pursuing Post graduate diploma in Environment and Sustainable Development from IGNOU. He has his first love in writing, photography and traveling.
Smriti Mishra (Program Associate) is a Mass Media graduate from Mumbai University with a specialization in Advertising. Due to her interest in social sector and rural communications, she joined IRMA (Institute of Rural Management, Anand) in 2007.After which, she worked with National Housing Bank in their Corporate Communication and Training Division before joining Winrock. |
