Winrock International India (WII) is a premier national level NGO working in the area of sustainable development, specifically in the field of energy & environment, natural resources management and climate change. WII is headquartered in New Delhi, having offices in Hyderabad, Bhadohi (UP), Kawardha (Chhattisgarh), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), and Thrissur (Kerala). WII wishes to recruit a professional with the following background:

A talented communication specialist to work across all our program divisions on writing, editing and managing production of printed material and web-based content. The position is suited for a dynamic professional with proven experience in strategic communications, public-private partnership management, sponsorships, fundraising and coordination, who can work in a team.

The position is based in WII’s head office in Gurgaon.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate WII’s ambitious mandate, services and products to national and international audiences
  • To support specific communication needs of the program areas – Energy and Environment, Natural Resources Management and Climate Change
  • Write, edit, source and manage articles, speeches, features, including interviews, press releases for newsletters, books and other publications
  • Help develop and maintain core print, web, video, and other communications and advocacy material
  • Website content management

Qualifications

  • An advanced degree in communications, journalism, public policy, international relations, development, or a related field
  • At least 8 years experience on strategic communications and advocacy issues, preferably with a development sector organization
  • Writing skills and extensive experience in positions that required writing and editing
  • A basic understanding of the subject areas that WII works on
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, establish, and maintain effective working relationships and communicate clearly
  • Commitment to the mission of the organization and its programs
  • Ability to understand, synthesize and clearly articulate complex and technical issues
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to meet multiple/overlapping deadlines, competing demands and urgent workload
