Major initiatives of E&E are promotion of energy
efficiency in different sectors, market development
for renewable energy, and capacity
building at various levels to enable and improve access
to finance and credit services for renewable
energy. E&E also works toward formulation
of policies that would lead to an enabling environment
for clean and renewable energy market
development. Our activities are well supported by our
project offices in Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh
and Karnataka.
WII has been working in this area for the last two decades
with a proven track record of managing complex energy
efficiency projects. Its cumulative experiences in the
energy management arena thus have been significant and
impressive. WII's core expertise in energy efficiency
lies in detailed energy audits, energy benchmarking
studies, technology assessment, preparation of feasibility
studies and detailed project reports, technology transfer,
demonstration of pilot projects, implementation guidance
and support, improving access to financing and capital
monitoring and evaluation, training and capacity building,
and information dissemination and outreach. This initiative
is targeted with an aim to support industry, both large
and small & medium enterprises (SMEs) besides commercial
buildings, policymakers in the government and various
bilateral and multilateral organizations active in this
area.
With a mandate to promote clean and renewable
energy, the E&E program at WII conducts
energy audits and related projects in the industrial,
commercial, municipal, and agricultural sectors. The
WII team is made of highly experienced, competent, and
skilled professionals drawn from electrical, mechanical,
and chemical engineering disciplines and capable of
carrying out audits in energy-intensive large industries,
medium and small industries, commercial and municipal
establishments, and the agricultural sector. Supported
by the necessary infrastructure and equipment, such
as handheld/portable instruments for on-site thermal
and electrical energy monitoring, thermal/electrical
energy analysis software, and an exhaustive databank,
the team is well-equipped to conduct energy audits,
and even tailor them to meet specific needs and objectives
of an organization.
WII's scope of energy audits includes all major thermal
and electrical energy consuming equipment
such as boilers, furnaces, dryers, DG sets, air compressors,
pumps, blowers/fans, refrigeration and airconditioning,
cooling towers, motors, load and demand management,
transformers, power factor analysis, harmonic analysis,
and energy management information systems
(EMIS).
