Sudhir Singhal (Senior Advisor) graduated in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur and did his Masters in Applied Physical Sciences (Tribology) from the University of Reading and the University of Wales, UK. His principal interests have been fuel and lubricant applications in internal combustion engines, alternate fuels, R&D management and Tribology. He has published over 200 papers, has been a member of Auto Fuel Policy Committee, Supreme Court appointed apex committee on Waste Management, and has been Convenor/member of several committees of Govt. of India and the Bureau of Indian Standards. He served at the Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun (a premier CSIR lab) for 38 years, and retired as Director in 2003.
Parimal M. Sadaphal (Advisor, Rural Energy) is a postgraduate in Agricultural Engineering and has about 20 years’ experience in rural energy, renewable energy technologies, appropriate technology, NGO capacity building and environmental issues. Parimal started his career as a Research Associate with the Tata Energy Research Institute (TERI, now The Energy and Resources Institute), after which he joined as Senior Manager (R&D) with International Development Enterprises (IDE) which is known for its market oriented approach toward development. Before joining Winrock as Consultant, Parimal was India Project Coordinator of the Canada-India Rural Energy Project (CIREP) for CHF-PARTNERS, a Canadian non-profit organization, which dealt with capacity building of a national network of NGOs. Parimal has also been associated as consultant to UNDP, SDC, ICEF and a number of other organizations.
Arvind Reddy (Group Coordinator, Rural Energy Access Group, and Program Officer) has a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and over eight years experience in the manufacturing industry, business development and the development sector. He is presently responsible for contributing his skills and knowledge to implement renewable energy projects in the Energy and Environment Program at WII. Arvind has worked with various stakeholders including the ministries, government departments, power utilities, donors and financial institutions. In his capacity as Program Officer, he is monitoring and managing the work of the Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh Office, which is implementing a solar photovoltaics applications program in the region. Arvind has been the core member in organizing WII’s Annual International Biofuels Conferences. He has contributed to reports on biofuels in the country. He is presently coordinating a multi-country project on promotion of biofuels in the South and Southeast Asian region. Arvind has published the Bulletin on Energy Efficiency for about five years. He holds good experience in developing proposals, managing and monitoring projects, organizing workshops/conferences and developing project reports.
Puneet Katyal (Group Coordinator, Energy Conservation Group, and Program Officer) holds six years of experience in the field of energy conservation, energy management, technology upgradation and cluster development of small and medium industrial sector. Prior to joining WII, Puneet worked with the Industrial Energy Group in TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) on projects ranging from industrial energy audits to those on energy and environmental issues. Puneet holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Prodyut Mukherjee (Program Officer) has a master’s degree in Rural Management from the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) and a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. He has over three years of experience in rural energy, water related issues and project management. Before joining WII, he worked with TERI for about a year. Prior to this, he worked with the Sir Ratan Tata Trust where his primary tasks were to manage the ongoing portfolio, review financial and physical performance of projects, and conceptualise and develop clusters of projects in the form of initiatives to tackle core problems of certain geographic areas. He was also part of a number of post-project evaluation teams comprising experts for recently concluded projects.
Manish Soni (Program Associate) completed his B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Rourkela in 2007. During his final year of B. Tech, he worked on a project titled “Three Dimensional Solid Modeling of Screw and Scroll Compressors including Animation”. His areas of interest are non-conventional applications, solid modeling and graphics.
Meenakshi Gusain (Senior Associate – Program Support) is a graduate from University of Delhi and has more than 7 years of working experience in the NGO Sector. At WII, she is currently assisting the Energy & Environment Program in all its programmatic activities.
Sajit Kumar (Associate – Program Support) has a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Calcutta University. Before joining WII, he worked with TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) for about five years in the same capacity. He has got hands on experience in organizing workshops, conferences and training programs. At WII, he is currently assisting the Energy & Environment area in all its programmatic activities. |
