Sudhir Singhal (Senior Advisor) graduated in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur and did his Masters in Applied Physical Sciences (Tribology) from the University of Reading and the University of Wales, UK. His principal interests have been fuel and lubricant applications in internal combustion engines, alternate fuels, R&D management and Tribology. He has published over 200 papers, has been a member of Auto Fuel Policy Committee, Supreme Court appointed apex committee on Waste Management, and has been Convenor/member of several committees of Govt. of India and the Bureau of Indian Standards. He served at the Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun (a premier CSIR lab) for 38 years, and retired as Director in 2003.
Shankar Haldar (Group Coordinator, Energy Conservation Group & Rural Energy Access Group), Bachelor of Technology (Hons.) in Energy Engineering from IIT – Kharagpur and Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering. He is also a Certified Energy Auditor from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, as well as certified SA–8000 Auditor. Earlier to the position, he has worked with the National Productivity Council, New Delhi, for 15 years in the capacity of Sr. Deputy Director. He has rich experience and worked in the field of energy management, energy conservation, energy efficiency and resource conservation. He has also worked in number of policy level studies and interventions. Architect for formulation of the strategic document “Energy Conservation Action Plan for States” to implement Energy Conservation Act - 2001. Subjects close to his heart are DSM, energy auditing and accounting in power distribution network, SME / cluster level demonstration initiatives and GIS & MIS based system.
Arvind Reddy (Program Manager, PMU & Outreach) has a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and over eight years experience in the manufacturing industry, business development and the development sector. He is presently responsible for contributing his skills and knowledge to implement renewable energy projects in the Energy and Environment Program at WII. Arvind has worked with various stakeholders including the ministries, government departments, power utilities, donors and financial institutions. In his capacity as Program Officer, he is monitoring and managing the work of the Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh Office, which is implementing a solar photovoltaics applications program in the region. Arvind has been the core member in organizing WII’s Annual International Biofuels Conferences. He has contributed to reports on biofuels in the country. He is presently coordinating a multi-country project on promotion of biofuels in the South and Southeast Asian region. Arvind has published the Bulletin on Energy Efficiency for about five years. He holds good experience in developing proposals, managing and monitoring projects, organizing workshops/conferences and developing project reports.
Abhishek Nath (Senior Program Officer, Energy Conservation Group) completed his Bachelor's degree in Materials & Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Kanpur and Masters in Industrial Engineering from IIT Delhi. He is also a certified energy auditor from Bureau Of Energy Efficiency. Prior to this he has worked in the area of Energy & Environment at The Energy & Resources Institute for ten years and in a steel manufacturing facility. He has also been with the MSMEs project of Bureau Of Energy Efficiency for two years. He has experience of working on energy conservation with a wide variety of large industries and on energy conservation demonstration and dissemination in small industries.
Nilanjan Ghose (Program Officer, Rural Energy Access Group) Nilanjan is a sociologist by training. His research interests lies in analyzing how changes in science and technology can contribute to poverty reduction, social justice and environmental sustainability in the developing world. He has, for the past seven years, worked in the areas of water & sanitation, livelihoods and environmental governance. He has worked for organizations like Council for Advancement of People’s Action and Rural Technology (CAPART), The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Participatory Research In Asia (PRIA). He holds a master’s degree from London School of Economics and Political Science UK.
Manish Soni (Program Officer) completed his B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Rourkela in 2007. During his final year of B. Tech, he worked on a project titled “Three Dimensional Solid Modeling of Screw and Scroll Compressors including Animation”. His areas of interest are non-conventional applications, solid modeling and graphics.
Sripal T (Program Officer) holds Master’s Degree (M.Tech) in Energy System Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay. Prior to joining Winrock he worked with TATA motors. In Winrock he is involved in research and consultancy projects in Energy Efficiency and cleaner production areas. He has experience in energy and environmental studies in large, medium, small scale industries and commercial buildings.
Chaman Kumar Shukla (Program Associate) is a graduate from Kanpur University and an Electrical Diploma Engineer with specialization in process control and instrumentation from U.P. Technical Education, Lucknow. He has more than 10 years of work experience. His works mainly involves conducting field studies, trial measurements, field verification, scheme implementation, field data collection, efficiently estimation analysis of data and assisting in formulation of reports. He has developed certain professional strengths in course of time and few of them are handling various sophisticated Energy Auditing Equipments and conducted various test trials independently for major industries like Power Plants, Textiles, Sub-stations, Buildings audits etc.
Sharda Prasad Gautam (Program Associate) is a Mechanical Engineer from NIT-Surat. During his stint at NIT-Surat he led the team of ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) to Portland, USA and won the prestigious Chairman Award organized by SAE, West. Thereafter he worked with General Motors India where his last assignment was as Team Coordinator for VAVE of Chevrolet Optra. Because of his interest in social sector, he joined IRMA (Institute of Rural Management, Anand) in June 2007. He completed his PGDRM from IRMA in April 2009 as a Gold Medalist.
Aniruddha Bhattacharjee (Program Associate) is a Mechanical Engineer from Pune University. He is currently employed with Winrock International India and is currently working on the technical and data analysis aspects of Ranidhera project on biofuels and is coordinating the execution of the Small Grant Program (SARI) project which is being funded by USAID.
Meenakshi Gusain (Executive Assistant) is a graduate from University of Delhi and has more than 7 years of working experience in the NGO Sector. At WII, she is currently assisting the Energy & Environment Program in all its programmatic activities.
Sajit Kumar (Associate – Program Support) has a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Calcutta University. Before joining WII, he worked with TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) for about five years in the same capacity. He has got hands on experience in organizing workshops, conferences and training programs. At WII, he is currently assisting the Energy & Environment area in all its programmatic activities. |
