A Water Resources Unit (WRU) has been established at WII to study key areas of water resource management in the Indian subcontinent and create an integrated approach to managing this rich resource productively.

Studies ranging from water quality monitoring in an urban context to traditional and customary water rights, involves a number of activities, which WII implemented independently as well as collaboratively with other local and regional institutions.

A number of field trips had been organized, and a report on best practices and lessons learned was prepared on the basis of the observations made at these trips.
