The ongoing initiatives on Rhododendron conservation need consolidation at both landscape and regional level. In light of the newer threats, a Conservation Action Plan is envisaged through a situation analysis, planning for field based action that addresses root causes of the threats, and developing a regional perspective in the Sino-Himalayan Region. To achieve this, an international workshop was organized in Delhi in the month of October 2010. Experts from India, Chin, England and Nepal participated in the workshop and shared their experience and knowledge with respect to the conservation of Rhododendron species in the region and a Conservation action plan is has been drafted based on the outcomes of the workshop.
