Hydrogen as a source of clean energy has many advantages. However, issues such as production, storage and utilization must be addressed in detail for successful application of this cleaner fuel for various purposes.
The objective of the project was to explore the economic application of hydrogen in providing energy services. In this regard, WII conducted studies and established contacts with the industry and technology suppliers for generating and disseminating information.
The study involved a comparative analysis of production technologies for manufacturing hydrogen on an industrial scale from fossil fuels as well as biomass, and identify low-cost options for hydrogen production.
The study highlighted various technical features in different hydrogen production technology options and there cost implications. Issues related to hydrogen production from biomass has also been explored in this study.
