Objective

The Major objective of the National CDM Methodology Expert was to work on the implementation of 2 pilot projects using the approved CDM methodologies AM0070 and AM0071, which have been developed under UNIDO Cleaner Technology Promotion in India. It included provision of technical assistance to the 2 project proponents – Godrej & Boyce and Videocon for CDM implementation of their respective projects using the appropriate methodology viz. AM0070 for manufacturing of energy efficient domestic refrigerators and AM0071 for manufacturing and servicing of domestic refrigeration appliances using a low GWP refrigerant. During the course of this project, WII was involved in establishing a Market as well as Manufacturer Benchmark or Baseline, estimating the amount of potential emission reduction, developing the PDD and setting the roadmap ultimately leading to registration by the CDMEB at UNFCCC.
