Biodiversity in Commerce: An Assessment of the Biological Sustainability of Non-Timber Forest Produce Extraction in the Sal Forests of West Bengal State

The above study was commissioned recently, with the objective to assess long-term ecological sustainability of important NTFP resources being extracted from the sal (Shorea robusta) forests of West Bengal. The study is being carried out by Dr Ghazala Shabuddin, who holds a doctorate in ecology from Duke University and is associated with Kalpavriksh.
