Hiring of Consultancy services for conducting/organising specialized training for Various Stake Holders under Energy Efficiency Capacity Building Initiatives - Phase I & II

Winrock International India (WII) successfully engaged in this project under the energy efficiency capacity building initiatives of IREDA. IREDA had financed this project from the line of credit received from IBRD/IDA/GEF toward the cost of "India: Second Renewable Energy Project."
The target groups in this training programme comprised of various stakeholders in the energy efficiency sector such as policy makers, consultants, energy auditors, equipment manufacturers, NGOs and ESCOs. The mandate of this programme was to build thecapacity of the participants to analyze, prioritize and develop “bankable” energy efficiency projects.
These initiatives circulated the information amongst various stakeholders on the latest innovations in energy efficient technologies and practices. Various financing models were explained through case studies so as to equip the participants with necessary financing skills which are required to appraise any energy efficiency project. The programmes would also provide a common platform to the stakeholders active in the energy efficiency sector to deliberate and discuss the issues of common concern and promote cooperation amongst them.
The duration of the training program was for three days, which included classroom lectures, field visits, interaction with professionals, etc.
In all, 32 training programs were organized all over India in two phases. The program was a huge success and around 934 officials from various organizations were trained. The feedback from the participants about these programs was very encouraging and they suggested more number of such programs to be conducted covering more banks all over the India.
