IREDA is operating a World Bank Line of Credit (WB-LoC) under the "India Second Renewable Energy Project." As a part of the above project, Technical Assistance Plan (TAP) is envisaged for energy efficiency market development. Toward this, IREDA has launched various promotional campaigns through advertisement in media to reach out to various stakeholders for generating awareness about energy efficiency and role and schemes of IREDA in promoting and developing energy efficiency in the country.

The objective of this project is to address the queries of people that arise due to the advertisement campaigns of IREDA on energy efficiency and renewable energy. These queries are to be handled in a professional and efficient manner. The queries thus received are to be analyzed and response communicated to IREDA through meetings and in the form of reports.

The major activities under the project include:

  • Developing a database in MS Access to record queries received through post, telephone, e-mail, etc.
  • Analyzing these queries in form of mode of query, sector, profession, type of query and reference of promotional campaign, etc, on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Generating a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) from the queries received and discussing with IREDA from time to time (quarterly basis) to frame appropriate responses

As part of the project:

  • Two toll-free lines have been installed in Winrock International India (WII). The numbers are: 1800 180 1350 and 1800 180 1351.
    • An e-mail ID (ee@iredaltd.com) has been specially created by IREDA where people can send their queries.  WII attends to these queries regularly.
    • A database has been developed to record queries received through post, telephone, e-mail, etc. The queries are immediately responded to by WII professionals.
    • FAQs have been framed and discussed with IREDA to prepare appropriate responses.

After successful completion of the first and second phase in January 2007, IREDA is continuing this activity up to January 2008.
