Project Description
Evaluation of Centre for Social Markets (CSM), a Kolkata based organization working in the field of climate change and corporate social responsibility (CSR), for Heinrich Boll Foundation.
Achievement The evaluation has brought out certain salient features of the organization such as most of their programmes are directed towards domestic industries in the developing countries particularly in India small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the international ethnic diaspora as well as on issues of corporate citizenship, sustainable development and human rights. CSM as the evaluation brought out promotes action at all levels - local, national, regional and international levels. One of the main objectives of CSM programme is to promote progressive leadership in the area of climate change.
The organizational structure of CSM is at present a 10 member organization with delegation of work to programme and support staff. Though the major decision being taken by senior staff management, CSM has an inclusive and participatory culture and staff input is always sought and valued regarding decision making.
CSM as a civil society organization has done pioneering work in the field of climate change, education, training and awareness generation under the able leadership of Ms. Malini Mehra, their Founder and Executive Director. |
