West Bengal Pollution Control Board has been designated by UNDP to carry out capacity building activities on Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in West Bengal. In the light of this UNDP funded Capacity Building Program in India, WBPCB has identified three potential projects in the state. The projects are:
- Low cost Solar Cookers for low-income households in Calcutta.
- Waste heat recovery boilers and potential of power generations in Mangalpur.
- Rice husk fired boiler in Howrah.
The focus will be on capacity development of WBPCB and project developers of these three projects on preparation of Project Concept Note (PCN) and Project Design Document (PDD). In this context Winrock International India (WII) is carrying out the above capacity building activity on CDM for preparation of the required CDM project documentations (PCN and PDD).
