Winrock International India (WII) is a premier national level NGO working in the area of sustainable development, specifically in the field of energy & environment, natural resources management and climate change. WII is headquartered in New Delhi, having offices in Hyderabad, Kawardha (Chhattisgarh), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh), Baripada (Orissa) and Thrissur (Kerala). WII wishes to recruit professionals with the following background for its Climate Change & Environment (CLC) Group:

The CLC group predominantly works on various projects in the GHG mitigation area and has grown progressively over the last few years. The main focus of the group is in GHG inventorization, development of mitigation measures, policy advocacy, CDM project facilitation and capacity building. In Environmental Management area, the major focus has been in the area of environmental audit and due diligence studies in the SME sectors and clusters, EIA and providing diagnostic solutions to pollution related issues. Apart from, renewable energy projects, WII has been developing CDM projects in waste management and energy efficiency sector too. While developing these projects the group facilitates project developers in the full cycle of the CDM project. Some of the projects have a pan-India reach and some are on individual aspects of climate change/environment.

WII is looking for professionals with at least a B. Tech in Engineering or other relevant academic fields and with 5-8 years of experience. A sound knowledge of various issues related to climate change, CDM, clean energy and environment are essential. The selected candidate is expected to support in developing proposals towards expanding the CLC portfolio, implement projects, represent WII in workshops / training programs, and network with funding agencies. The person should have a track record in policy analysis and development work in the area of climate change and related issues. The person should be well networked within the sector in India and must have demonstrated project implementation experience in different parts of India. Ability to understand, synthesize and clearly articulate complex and technical issues; ability to exercise sound judgment; ability to meet multiple/overlapping deadlines, competing demands and urgent workload are some of the essential qualifications.

Candidates from energy background and some orientation of environment and climate change may also apply. The position is based in WII’s Gurgaon office and will require travel. Position and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Apply to:
